Work/PowerPlant Contemporary Art Gallery
Except to local art intelligencia, The PowerPlant Contemporary Art Gallery was once a strange and unfamiliar outpost on shores of Lake Ontario. As long time supporters of the gallery, and recognizing the potential for important international artists it attracted, we were passionate about helping change this. We actively engaged in a decade long, pro bono relationship to shift perception of Canada’s undisputed, leading contemporary art gallery. The entire team consistently pitched in - from board director level to endless involvement on fundraiser and event committees (the latter cultivating PowerBall as the city's hottest, most influential art party).
In addition to years of devising and developing strategic, creative promotional support, we ultimately collaborated with Grey Advertising Canada and Monnet Design to uncover the brand's true voice, expressing it both graphically and experientially. Applied comprehensively – including gallery interiors and exteriors and new web and digital properties – efforts culminated in a potent visual system and high energy logo.
In the end, our research-intensive process affirmed what we actually already knew - ensuring that for at least another 30 years, people will see, think and feel different once they have experienced the PowerPlant.
